The pull wire sensor consists of a pull wire box and an encoder. It is a sensor with small installation size, compact structure, large measurement stroke, and high accuracy, with a stroke ranging from 100 millimeters to tens of meters.
The function of a wire type displacement sensor is to convert mechanical motion into electrical signals that can be measured, recorded, or transmitted. The displacement sensor is wound by a stretchable stainless steel rope around a threaded hub, which is connected to a precision rotary sensor. The sensor can be an incremental encoder, an absolute value encoder, a mixed or conductive plastic rotary potentiometer, a synchronizer, or a parser.
In terms of operation, the pull rope displacement sensor is installed in a fixed position, and the pull rope is tied to a moving object. Align the linear motion of the rope with the axis of the moving object. When movement occurs, the pull rope extends and contracts. An internal spring ensures that the tension of the tension rope remains unchanged. The threaded wheel hub drives the precision rotation sensor to rotate, outputting an electrical signal proportional to the distance of the rope movement. Measuring the output signal can determine the displacement, direction, or velocity of a moving object.
Common parameters include measurement stroke, output signal mode, linearity, repeatability, resolution, wire diameter specifications, outlet tension, maximum round-trip speed, weight, input resistance value, power, working voltage, working temperature, vibration, protection level, etc.
The signal output methods of the rope displacement sensor are divided into digital signal output and analog signal output. The digital output type can choose from incremental rotary encoder, absolute value encoder, etc. The output signals are square wave ABZ signal, free RS485 signal, MODBUS signal, measurement stroke length (100-35000mm), high accuracy (~% FS), and protection level IP65. The shell and wire wheel are both treated with anti-corrosion treatment, and the traction rope is made of stainless steel, which can work in harsh environments (including seawater). The optional output methods include resistance type, voltage type, current type, incremental pulse type, and absolute pulse type.
The analog output type can choose precision potentiometer, hall encoder, absolute value encoder, etc. The output signal can be 4-20 mA, 0-5 V, 0-10 V, resistance signal, etc. The maximum travel can reach 35000 mm, and the maximum use environment can reach the protection level of IP65. It can be used in a wide temperature environment of - 35 ℃~+85 ℃.
Installation precautions for cable encoder:
1. Install using the bottom guide rail bracket, directly or with additional protection or other mechanical use according to the needs of on-site and machine installation space facilities
2. When installing stainless steel cables, attention should be paid to the horizontal angle, which means that the mechanism of the cable from the outlet to the moving part should slide horizontally during operation, maintaining the minimum angle (allowable deviation+/-30) to ensure measurement accuracy and the lifespan of the cable
3. The steel cable body is made of stainless steel with a fluorine coating. Do not allow it to be cut, burned, or impacted by external forces. Excessive dust, debris, or items that can damage the steel cable stored inside the pulley or outlet will cause damage to the steel cable, resulting in poor operation
4. Do not use your hands or other products to pull out the steel cable and allow it to instantly rebound without being installed on the workbench or fixed in front of the seat. This will cause the steel cable to break, damage the body structure and personal safety
